1. About these Conditions of Sale and who we are

These Conditions of Sale govern every purchase you make from the Little India Treasures online store at www.shoplittleindia.co.uk (the "Site"). Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Conditions of Sale.

The Site is operated by Treasure & Trove Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales:

References to "we", "us", or "our" are references to Treasure & Trove Ltd. References to "you" or "your" are references to the person placing an order through the Site.

These Conditions of Sale should be read alongside our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Legal Notice. Nothing in these Conditions of Sale affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.

2. How the contract is formed

When you place an order through the Site, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order at the prices and on the terms set out at checkout. Our acceptance of your order — and the formation of a legally binding contract between us — occurs when we send you a despatch confirmation email confirming that your order has been shipped.

An order acknowledgement email sent immediately after you place your order confirms receipt of your order and payment. It does not constitute acceptance of your order. We reserve the right to decline, cancel, or limit any order at any time before despatch, including in the following circumstances:

  • A product is out of stock or no longer available
  • A pricing or product description error has occurred on the Site
  • We are unable to obtain payment authorisation
  • The order appears to have been placed for commercial resale purposes without an approved wholesale account
  • We have reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent activity

If we decline your order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method within 14 days.

You must be at least 18 years of age to place an order. By placing an order, you confirm that you are purchasing the products for your own personal use or as a gift, and not for commercial resale purposes unless you hold an approved wholesale account with us.

Each order you place constitutes a separate contract between you and us. These Conditions of Sale apply to every such contract, together with any specific terms communicated to you at the time of purchase.

3. Products and product descriptions

We take great care to present our products accurately on the Site. All product descriptions, dimensions, materials, and photographs are provided in good faith and are as accurate as we are reasonably able to make them.

Our products are handcrafted by skilled artisans in India. As a result, minor natural variations in colour, pattern, texture, stitching, and dimensions are an inherent characteristic of what we sell — they are not defects, and they are part of what makes each piece unique. Product images are representative only; the colour of a product as displayed on your screen may vary slightly from the actual product due to differences in screen calibration and display settings.

Where a product is shown in a lifestyle image alongside other items, only the product described in the product listing is included in the purchase unless expressly stated otherwise.

We reserve the right to withdraw any product from sale at any time and to make changes to product descriptions, specifications, and pricing without notice, subject to any order already confirmed by us.

4. Pricing and VAT

All prices displayed on the Site are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate, unless otherwise stated. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout and are not included in the displayed product price.

Prices may be displayed in other currencies (EUR, USD) for international customers. The price charged will be converted at the exchange rate applied by your payment provider at the time of purchase. We accept no responsibility for any currency conversion charges applied by your bank or payment provider.

We reserve the right to amend prices at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed on the Site at the time you place your order and confirmed in your order acknowledgement email. If we discover a pricing error after you have placed your order, we will contact you as soon as possible to inform you. You will have the option to proceed at the correct price or to cancel your order for a full refund. We are under no obligation to fulfil an order at an incorrect price.

If you are ordering from outside the UK, additional charges may apply at the point of import. Please see Section 8 for full details of customs duties and import taxes.

5. Payment

Payment is taken in full at the time you place your order. We accept the following payment methods through our Shopify-powered checkout:

  • Visa, Mastercard, and American Express (credit and debit)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • PayPal
  • Klarna (Buy Now Pay Later — see Section 6)
  • Shop Pay

All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments using SSL encryption. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or payment credentials on our systems at any time. Shopify is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, the highest level of payment security certification available.

All cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by their card issuer. If your payment is not authorised, we will not be able to process your order and will notify you as soon as possible. We accept no liability for any delay or failure to process your order as a result of payment not being authorised.

Gift cards are redeemable as a payment method — see Section 14 for the full terms that apply.

6. Buy Now Pay Later (Klarna)

We offer Buy Now Pay Later payment options through Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden. When you choose to pay using Klarna, your payment is made to Klarna, not directly to us. The following general conditions apply:

  • Klarna's payment options are subject to eligibility checks and Klarna's own terms and conditions, which you will be asked to review and accept at checkout
  • We pass certain personal data to Klarna in order for them to assess your eligibility and process your payment — see our Privacy Policy for details
  • Klarna cannot be used to purchase gift cards
  • If you cancel or return an order paid for using Klarna, we will notify Klarna and your payment plan will be adjusted or cancelled accordingly, subject to Klarna's terms
  • Any dispute about a payment to Klarna should be directed to Klarna's customer service in the first instance

For full information about Klarna's payment products, eligibility criteria, and terms, please visit www.klarna.com/uk.

7. Delivery

7.1 UK delivery services and charges

We deliver to UK Mainland, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Scottish Islands. Two delivery services are available:

Standard Delivery (3–5 working days) Free on orders of £60.00 or more | £5.95 on orders under £60.00. Orders are delivered via Royal Mail tracked service within 3–5 working days. Excludes weekends and Bank Holidays.
Express Delivery (1–2 working days) £7.95. Available to most mainland UK addresses. Orders delivered within 1–2 working days via Royal Mail tracked service. Excludes weekends and Bank Holidays. Address restrictions may apply — check at checkout to confirm availability.

The delivery service and charge applicable to your order will be displayed clearly at checkout before you complete your purchase. Free Standard Delivery is applied automatically at checkout on all qualifying UK orders of £60.00 or more — no code is required.

7.2 Despatch times and cut-off times

Your order is fulfilled and despatched by our UK-based third-party logistics partner. All orders placed before 2:00pm on a working day will be despatched the same day. Orders placed after 2:00pm on Friday, or at any time over the weekend, will be despatched on the following Monday. Orders placed on a bank holiday will be despatched on the next working day.

We aim to despatch all in-stock orders within 1–3 working days of receiving your order confirmation. During busy periods — including sale events and the lead-up to Christmas — despatch may take a little longer than usual. We will notify you if there is a significant delay.

7.3 Tracking

Once your order has been despatched, you will receive a despatch confirmation email containing your tracking information. Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking information to update after despatch. If your tracking has not updated within 24 hours, please contact us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk with your order number.

7.4 Delivery address

It is your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address at checkout. We are unable to amend the delivery address once an order has been despatched. We accept no liability for failed or delayed delivery resulting from an inaccurate or incomplete address provided by you.

7.5 Failed delivery

If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful because no one is available to receive the parcel, our courier will leave a card with instructions for rescheduling or collecting your parcel. If a parcel is not collected or redelivery is not arranged within the courier's specified timeframe, the parcel may be returned to us. In such cases, you will be responsible for the cost of redelivery.

7.6 Delivery timescales under the Consumer Contracts Regulations

Unless a specific delivery date has been agreed with you, we will deliver your goods within 30 days of the date of your order confirmation. If we are unable to deliver within this period and you have not agreed to an extension, you may be entitled to cancel your order for a full refund. Please contact us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk if your order has not arrived within 30 days of placing it.

7.7 Partial orders and split deliveries

On occasion, items in your order may be despatched separately if they are fulfilled from different locations or are subject to different lead times. You will be notified if this applies to your order.

8. International orders, customs and import duties

We ship worldwide. International delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on your delivery destination, the weight of your order, and the shipping service selected.

When ordering for delivery outside the United Kingdom, your order may be subject to import duties, customs fees, and local taxes levied by the destination country upon arrival. These charges are not included in our product prices or delivery charges and are the sole responsibility of the recipient. We have no control over these charges and are unable to predict their amount.

We strongly recommend that you check the import regulations and likely duty thresholds in your country before placing an order. We are unable to refund customs duties, taxes, or handling fees charged by local authorities or couriers in the destination country.

Our EORI number (GB040548830000) enables us to export goods lawfully from the United Kingdom. All international orders are accompanied by the necessary customs and export documentation.

If an international delivery is refused by you or returned to us as a result of your failure to pay applicable customs duties or taxes, or because the parcel was not collected, we reserve the right to deduct the cost of return shipping and any customs-related charges from any refund due to you.

For EU customers, your rights under applicable EU consumer protection legislation are not affected by these Conditions of Sale.

9. Risk and title

The risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to the delivery address you provided at checkout. From that point, you are responsible for the products.

If you have nominated a third party (for example, a gift recipient) to receive delivery on your behalf, risk passes to that person upon delivery to them, in the same way as if delivery had been made directly to you.

Legal ownership of the products passes to you only upon receipt of payment in full. Until full payment has been received and cleared, title to the products remains with Treasure & Trove Ltd.

We are responsible for the products until they are delivered to you. If your order is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk and we will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

10. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

As a consumer purchasing goods online, you have a statutory right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You may cancel your order within 14 calendar days of the day after you receive your goods, without giving any reason.

If your order consists of multiple items delivered separately, the 14-day period begins on the day after you receive the last item in your order.

How to cancel

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us clearly before the end of the 14-day period. You may do this by emailing us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk with your name, order number, and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may also use the model cancellation form set out at the end of these Conditions of Sale, though you are not required to do so.

Once you have notified us of your intention to cancel, you must return the products to us within 14 calendar days. The cost of returning the goods under the right to cancel is your responsibility unless the goods are faulty or we have made an error — see Section 12.

Exceptions to the right to cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to:

  • Products that have been personalised or made to your specific requirements
  • Products that have been used, worn, washed, damaged, or are not in a resalable condition
  • Gift cards (which are non-refundable once purchased)
  • Products returned without their original packaging where the packaging forms part of the product

We reserve the right to make a deduction from your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods — that is, beyond what you would be permitted to do in a shop.

11. Returns — change of mind

In addition to your statutory right to cancel, we accept change-of-mind returns within 14 days of delivery. This means you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to notify us that you wish to return it, and a further 14 days from the date of notification to send the goods back to us.

To be accepted for return, all items must be:

  • Unused and in their original, unworn, unwashed condition
  • Returned in their original packaging with all tags, labels, and any accompanying accessories intact
  • In a fully resalable condition

The following items cannot be returned under this section unless they are faulty:

  • Sale items — all sale purchases are final
  • Personalised or made-to-order items
  • Gift cards

How to make a return

Please contact us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk before sending anything back, quoting your name and order number. Once we have confirmed your return, we will send you a Royal Mail returns link by email. You may use this to print a returns label at home or to generate a QR code for use at your nearest Post Office or Royal Mail drop-off point — no printer is required. The cost of return postage for change-of-mind returns will be deducted from your refund.

Please include a note with your return stating your name, order number, and reason for return, or complete the model cancellation form at the end of these Conditions of Sale.

We reserve the right to refuse a return that does not meet these conditions. Items that are returned to us in an unsatisfactory condition, or outside the return window, may be sent back to you at your cost.

12. Returns — faulty, damaged or incorrect goods

We take great pride in the quality of every item we sell. In the unlikely event that you receive a product that is faulty, damaged in transit, or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full. In particular:

  • If your goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have a short-term right to reject them and receive a full refund within 30 days of delivery
  • After 30 days and within 6 months of delivery, if a fault cannot be repaired or the product replaced, you are entitled to a full refund in most cases
  • After 6 months, you retain the right to seek a repair, replacement, or partial refund, though the burden of proof shifts to you to demonstrate that the fault was present at the time of delivery

Please do not return a faulty or damaged item without contacting us first. Where we confirm that an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover the cost of the return in full. Please include photographs of any fault or damage in your initial email to help us resolve your query as quickly as possible.

Please do not attempt to repair or alter a faulty product yourself, or through a third party, before contacting us, as doing so may affect your entitlement to a remedy.

Please note that the natural variations inherent in handcrafted and artisan goods — including slight variations in colour, texture, stitching, and pattern — are not defects and do not entitle you to return a product under this section.

13. Refunds

Once we have received and inspected your returned goods and confirmed that they meet our returns conditions, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds will be made to the original payment method used to place your order. If your original payment method is no longer available, please contact us at treasures@shoplittleindia.co.uk and we will arrange an alternative.

If you paid for all or part of your order using a gift card, the refund for that portion will be returned to a gift card.

If you paid using Klarna, we will notify Klarna of your refund and your payment plan will be adjusted or cancelled accordingly. Klarna will manage the refund in accordance with their own terms.

Delivery charges and refunds

If you are exercising your 14-day right to cancel and returning your entire order, we will refund the standard delivery charge paid on your original order. We will not refund any premium, express, or upgraded delivery charges beyond the standard rate.

If you are returning only part of your order, the original delivery charge will not be refunded.

If you are returning goods because they are faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we will refund the full cost of the goods and any delivery charge paid on that order.

The cost of return postage for change-of-mind returns is not refundable.

14. Gift cards

Little India Treasures digital gift cards are available to purchase through the Site. The following terms apply to all gift cards:

  • Gift cards are delivered digitally by email to the address provided at the time of purchase
  • Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused balance remaining after the expiry date will be forfeited and cannot be refunded
  • Gift cards can be redeemed against any product on the Site and may be used as full or part payment
  • Gift cards cannot be used to purchase other gift cards
  • Gift cards cannot be purchased using Klarna or other Buy Now Pay Later payment methods
  • Gift cards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit under any circumstances
  • Gift cards are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law
  • If you return an item purchased using a gift card, any refund due will be credited back to a gift card
  • We accept no responsibility for gift cards that are lost, stolen, or used without your authorisation. Please treat your gift card code as you would cash and do not share it publicly
  • We reserve the right to cancel a gift card that we reasonably believe has been obtained fraudulently or in breach of these terms
15. Our liability

We warrant that all products sold through the Site are of satisfactory quality, fit for their normal purpose, and as described, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Our liability to you in connection with any purchase is limited to the purchase price of the product concerned. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from your purchase, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, or loss of anticipated savings.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to provide accurate delivery information, your failure to take reasonable care of goods once delivered, or your failure to follow any care or usage instructions provided with the products.

We will not be liable for any costs incurred by you in connection with the installation, fitting, or professional assembly of any of our products. We strongly recommend checking that a product is suitable for your intended use before ordering.

Nothing in these Conditions of Sale excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer
  • Any other matter for which liability cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law

Your statutory rights are not affected by these Conditions of Sale.

16. Force majeure

We will not be in breach of these Conditions of Sale or liable for any delay in performance or failure to perform our obligations to the extent that such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics or epidemics, strikes or industrial action, fire, flood, governmental or regulatory restrictions, disruption to postal or courier services, or failure of third-party systems or infrastructure.

Where a force majeure event affects our ability to fulfil your order, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and will use reasonable efforts to minimise the impact on your order. If we are unable to fulfil your order within a reasonable period, we will offer you the option to cancel your order for a full refund.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Conditions of Sale, and any contract formed between us under them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph below, any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Conditions of Sale shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your jurisdiction of residence. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer rights and protections afforded to you by the laws of that country.

EU consumers may also refer disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to use an alternative dispute resolution service but we will always try to resolve complaints fairly and promptly through direct contact in the first instance — please see our Complaints Policy.
