A block-printed pouch in dusty rose and white diagonal stripes, with a gathered frill all around. Lined in pink cotton satin, finished with a gold zip and our metal tiger.
Roomy enough for your daily essentials, slim enough to slip into any bag. At home in a handbag, carry it inside a tote or a carry-on or use it as a clutch on its own. A pouch that feels like something you found rather than something you bought.

The Treasure Hunt

Leheriya means waves. It is one of Rajasthan's oldest textile traditions, a pattern of diagonal stripes that runs across the cloth like water moving in a light current. Traditionally it was achieved through tie-dye, lengths of fabric bound and dipped in sequence until the waves emerged from the resist. In Sanganer, the printers found a way to do the same thing with a block.
This is the block-printed leheriya, the wave pattern translated from dye bath to teakwood block and pressed onto cotton by hand. The diagonal stripes travel across the cloth at the same angle as the original, the dusty rose and white alternating in the unhurried rhythm of something that has been moving this way for centuries. The slight softness at the edges of each stripe, where the dye meets the undyed cotton, echoes the organic quality of the tie-dye original.
It is a pattern that tests the printer's consistency. A diagonal line across a full length of cloth must maintain the same angle, the same width, the same pressure from the first pass to the last. The variation you may notice from one stripe to the next is not error. It is what hand printing looks like when it is honest.
The same fabric is gathered into a frill that runs all the way around the pouch, the diagonal stripes breaking into movement as the cloth is pleated. A gold zip runs along the top, finished with a self-fabric knotted tassel and our small metal tiger.
The pouch that carries one of Rajasthan's oldest patterns in your pocket.

A note on natural variation

Every Leheriya pouch is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The diagonal stripe pattern is one where variation is immediately visible and entirely expected. You may notice a stripe that sits a fraction wider than its neighbour, or an edge where the dusty rose softened slightly as the block lifted. The frill is gathered by hand, so its fullness will shift slightly around the pouch. This is a pattern with centuries of handmade variation behind it. One more piece adds to that history.

Our Promise

Every piece in our collection is sourced directly from artisan workshops we know by name. We pay fairly, we visit often, and we believe the people who make a thing should be valued as much as the thing itself. We use natural dyes wherever possible, plastic-free packaging in every order, and we donate a share of every sale back into the craft communities we work with.
