Olive Bloom Frill Tote

There is a particular kind of jaal that belongs to Sanganer in the height of summer. Dense, flowering, every inch of the cloth covered in blooms and leaves, the ground barely visible beneath the pattern. The Olive Bloom is this kind of cloth.
The motif is a full flowering vine, large open blooms in golden yellow travelling on dark green stems across a sage ground that gives the whole pattern its freshness. The flowers are rendered with the fine outlines that Sanganer is known for, each petal carrying its own detail, the centre of each bloom drawn with the precision of a hand that has pressed this block thousands of times and still brings care to every one.
Multiple blocks build the pattern in sequence. The sage ground is dyed first. Then the vine structure, laying down the dark green framework across the cloth. Then the golden yellow of the flowers, the colour that the eye follows through the repeat. Then the fine outlines, the last pass, the one that gives each bloom its definition and holds the jaal together. The result is a cloth that reads as warm from a distance and intricate up close.
The same fabric is gathered into a double frill that runs all the way around the tote, the yellow blooms breaking into movement as the cloth is pleated. A shoulder strap allows it to be carried hands-free.

Every Olive Bloom tote is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The density of the jaal means variation appears across the entire surface of the bag. You may notice a bloom where the yellow sits a fraction outside the dark outline, or a section of vine where the green caught the dye more deeply. The sage ground may carry a slightly different tone from piece to piece. The double frill is gathered by hand, so its fullness will shift slightly around the tote. This is a pattern that has been made in Sanganer for generations, and the evidence of those hands is in every piece.

Returns

You have 14 days from receiving your order to return it. Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.

For change-of-mind returns, we email you a Royal Mail returns link — no printer needed, no postage to pay upfront. The cost of return postage is deducted from your refund.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, we cover return postage in full and refund your original delivery charge. Sale items are final.
