A block-printed pouch in periwinkle blue and pink on a warm peach ground. Lined in blue cotton satin, finished with a gold zip and our metal tiger.
Roomy enough for your daily essentials, slim enough to slip into any bag. At home in a handbag, carry it inside a tote or a carry-on or use it as a clutch on its own. A pouch that feels like something you found rather than something you bought.

The Treasure Hunt

Not every good design is old. Some of the most interesting cloth coming out of Sanganer right now is the work of printers who grew up cutting traditional blocks and then decided to make something entirely their own.
The sunset stem is one of these. A tall, slender plant, small blue flowers clustered at the top of a sinuous stem, pink tendrils trailing loosely beside it. The motif repeats in vertical columns across the peach ground, the stems swaying slightly from one repeat to the next in the way plants move in a light wind. It is a pattern that feels drawn rather than carved, loose and botanical rather than geometric and formal.
The peach ground is laid first, a warm apricot built up in a light wash over undyed cotton. Then the pink of the trailing vines, then the blue of the flowers, each pass of the block adding a layer until the stem is complete. The colours sit close enough in warmth to feel harmonious but distinct enough to give the pattern its freshness.
The cotton is cut and stitched into a flat pouch, the stems running vertically across every face. A gold zip runs along the top, finished with a self-fabric knotted tassel and our small metal tiger.
The pouch that looks like a page from a botanist's sketchbook pressed onto cotton.

A note on natural variation

Every Sunset Stem pouch is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The loose, botanical character of this pattern means variation feels natural rather than accidental. You may notice a stem that sits a fraction closer to its neighbour, or a flower cluster where the blue caught the dye a little more deeply on one side. The peach ground may carry a slightly warmer or cooler tone from piece to piece. This is a contemporary design made by an ancient method, and the hand behind it is visible in every stem.
