Indigo Bagh Frill Makeup Bag

Bagh means garden. And this is exactly what a Sanganer printer's garden looks like rendered in cloth.
The flowers here are large, open blooms, each one filling the space it occupies with the confidence of something that has been growing for a long time. The petals are dense and layered, the outlines drawn in coral red over a blush ground, the vines trailing between the flowers with the unhurried looseness of a pattern that knows it does not need to rush. This is not a small repeat motif scattered across a ground. This is a full garden, placed on cotton.
Sanganer is known for its fine outlines and its ability to hold detail at scale. The printer here has used that precision to render each bloom with a clarity that holds up whether you are looking at the bag from across the room or holding it in your hands. Multiple blocks, printed in sequence, each one adding a layer of detail over the last.
The teal ground sits deep beneath the flowers, held long enough in the dye bath to reach this particular richness. The blush of the petals and the coral of the outlines are printed separately, the second colour tracing the first with a steady hand.
The same fabric is gathered into a full frill that runs all the way around the bag, the blooms spilling into the pleats as the cloth is gathered. A gold zip runs across the top, finished with a self-fabric tassel pull and our small metal tiger.

Every Indigo Bagh bag is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The large scale of the blooms means variation is visible and generous. You may notice a flower where the coral outline sits a fraction outside the blush beneath it, or a petal that caught the dye a little more deeply on one side. The teal ground may carry a slightly different depth from piece to piece. The frill is gathered by hand, so its fullness will shift slightly around the bag. With a pattern this bold, the variation only adds to it.

We ship worldwide. Rates and timeframes calculated at checkout based on your destination. Customs duties and import taxes are not included and are the customer's responsibility.

Returns

You have 14 days from receiving your order to return it. Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.

For change-of-mind returns, we email you a Royal Mail returns link — no printer needed, no postage to pay upfront. The cost of return postage is deducted from your refund.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, we cover return postage in full and refund your original delivery charge. Sale items are final.
