A hand-quilted wash bag, block-printed by hand in black on a crisp white ground. Water-resistant lining, three inner pockets and a gold zip with tassel pull.
Large enough for your full routine, compact enough to live in your luggage. Equally at home on the bathroom shelf and in the overnight bag. A wash bag that feels like something you found rather than something you bought.

The Treasure Hunt

Chandni means moonlight. And this is exactly what a moonlit garden looks like rendered in cloth.
The jaal here is a dense flowering vine, large open blooms and broad leaves travelling across a white ground in deep black ink. The effect is immediate and total. Where most block prints use colour to carry the eye, this one uses contrast alone. Black and white, no middle ground, the pattern reading with the same force from across the room as it does up close.
Sanganer's finest printing has always been its outline work, patterns where the precision of the line is everything because there is no colour to soften an imprecise edge. The flowers on this cloth are drawn in black with a clarity that holds across the entire surface, each petal and leaf outlined with the confidence of a hand that has spent years cutting and pressing these blocks. Multiple blocks, printed in careful sequence, each one adding detail over the last until the vine covers every inch of ground.
The white is the cotton itself, undyed. The black is printed over it in passes, the jaal building from a single outline block into something that, up close, has the density and intricacy of an engraving.
Once printed, the cotton is hand-quilted along vertical channels for structure and a soft padded weight, then bound with a hand-woven black and white stripe trim. A gold zip runs across the top, finished with a black tassel pull.
The wash bag that looks like a page from a botanical sketchbook pressed onto cotton.

A note on natural variation

Every Chandni Bagh wash bag is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The high contrast of black on white makes any variation in the printing immediately visible, which is also what makes it honest. You may notice a flower where the black outline sits fractionally outside its neighbour, or a leaf where the block pressed a little more heavily on one side. The white ground may carry a very faint warmth from piece to piece. This is outline printing at its most demanding, and the hand behind it shows in every line.

Our Promise

Every piece in our collection is sourced directly from artisan workshops we know by name. We pay fairly, we visit often, and we believe the people who make a thing should be valued as much as the thing itself. We use natural dyes wherever possible, plastic-free packaging in every order, and we donate a share of every sale back into the craft communities we work with.
