Olive & Sage Striped Ruffle Cushion Cover

The hardest thing to print is a colour that looks like it was always there.
Olive and sage are both green, but they are not the same green, and the distance between them is exactly what makes this stripe work. The deep olive carries the weight of the cloth, a green with brown in it, the colour of shade and dry scrub and the underside of a leaf in late summer. The sage sits beside it, cooler and lighter, a green with grey in it, the colour of early morning and still water. Together they make a stripe that reads as calm from across the room and reveals its depth when you come closer.
In Sanganer, screen printing allows for this kind of flat, even colour across a bold stripe. Each colour is pulled through a fine mesh screen one pass at a time, the olive first and then the sage, the squeegee drawing the colour evenly across the full width of the cotton. There is no motif here to do the work, no flower or vine to give the eye something to follow. The stripe is the whole design, and the relationship between the two greens is the whole conversation.
The same fabric runs front and back and gathers into the ruffle that frames the cover, the olive and sage alternating softly as the cloth folds at the edge.
The cushion that knows restraint is its own kind of confidence.

Every Olive & Sage cover is printed by hand, so no two are quite the same. The tonal nature of the two greens means subtle variation in colour weight is part of the cloth's character. You may notice a stripe where the olive reads a fraction warmer, or a section of sage that caught the cotton with a cooler tone. The ruffle is gathered by hand, so its fullness will shift gently around the edge and the stripes will break at different points as the fabric pleats. These are the marks of a cloth made entirely by hand in Sanganer, and they are part of what makes your cushion yours.

Returns

You have 14 days from receiving your order to return it. Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.

For change-of-mind returns, we email you a Royal Mail returns link — no printer needed, no postage to pay upfront. The cost of return postage is deducted from your refund.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, we cover return postage in full and refund your original delivery charge. Sale items are final.
