Wavy Daisy Wash Bag

Sale price£38.00

Hand block-printed in Rajasthan
100% pure cotton

A hand-quilted wash bag, block-printed by hand in coral and yellow on a cream ground. Water-resistant lining, three inner pockets and a gold zip with tassel pull.
Large enough for your full routine, compact enough to live in your luggage. Equally at home on the bathroom shelf and in the overnight bag. A wash bag that feels like something you found rather than something you bought.

The Treasure Hunt

Sanganer has been printing cloth for centuries. It has also, quietly, been reinventing itself.
The wavy daisy is not a traditional motif. It was designed in a Sanganer workshop by a printer who grew up cutting ancient blocks and decided to make something new. The form is a large open flower, petals flowing outward in loose, unhurried curves rather than the precise geometry of a classical repeat. The yellow centre sits bright against the coral, the kind of colour pairing that only works when you commit to it completely.
What makes this pattern interesting is what it borrows and what it leaves behind. The technique is entirely traditional. A teakwood block, hand-cut, dipped in pigment and pressed onto cotton by hand. The rhythm of the repeat, the slight variation from one flower to the next, the way the coral bleeds softly at the petal edges. All of it is the product of a centuries-old craft. Only the design is new.
This is what a living craft tradition looks like. Not preserved behind glass but growing, changing, making something that could only exist now while being made exactly the way it always has been.
Once printed, the cotton is hand-quilted along vertical channels for structure and a soft padded weight, then bound with a hand-woven coral and white stripe trim. A gold zip runs across the top, finished with a tassel pull.
The wash bag for someone who likes their tradition with a little irreverence.

A note on natural variation

Every Wavy Daisy wash bag is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The loose, flowing petals of this pattern mean variation feels natural rather than accidental. You may notice a flower where the coral sits slightly outside the petal outline, or a yellow centre that caught the dye a little more brightly than its neighbour. The cream ground may carry a faint warmth from piece to piece. This is a contemporary design made by an ancient method, and the hand behind it shows in every flower.
