Jaipur Stripe Shopper Tote

Jaipur has always been a city of colour. The old city walls are painted pink, the bazaars run amber and saffron, and the textiles that come out of the workshops surrounding it carry that same instinct for the bold and the unapologetic. The Jaipur Stripe is this instinct in its simplest form.
A vertical stripe in pink and yellow, block-printed onto cotton in Sanganer. The pattern is as direct as it gets, two colours, clean lines, nothing competing for attention. But a stripe pattern is harder to execute than it looks. Every vertical line must maintain the same angle and the same width from the top of the cloth to the bottom. The printer does not use a ruler. He counts his rhythm, trusts his eye, and presses each block in a single measured movement down the length of the fabric.
The slight softness at the edge of each stripe, where the dye meets the undyed cotton, is the only place the hand reveals itself. It is also what separates this cloth from any printed stripe you could buy off a roll.
Once printed, the cotton is hand-quilted along vertical channels that follow the stripe, the quilting lines running parallel to the print in a way that feels entirely intentional. The bag is bound with a yellow and white stripe trim along every edge and handle, a second stripe layered over the first.
A tote that knows exactly what it is and makes no attempt to be anything else.

Every Jaipur Stripe tote is printed and stitched by hand, so no two are quite the same. The stripe pattern is one where variation is immediately visible and entirely expected. You may notice a line that sits a fraction wider than its neighbour, or an edge where the pink softened slightly as the block lifted. The quilting channels follow the stripe by hand, so their alignment will shift very slightly from piece to piece. This is a bold pattern made by an honest process, and the hand behind it is in every line.

Returns

You have 14 days from receiving your order to return it. Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.

For change-of-mind returns, we email you a Royal Mail returns link — no printer needed, no postage to pay upfront. The cost of return postage is deducted from your refund.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, we cover return postage in full and refund your original delivery charge. Sale items are final.
